Tripod Mounted, Timer Release, Canon 420 EX Speedlite with LumiQuest pocket bouncer used to defuse light. Thought unfortunate for the Dragonfly pictured here, the Spider receives live giving nutrition for it's efforts. And life on the Web goes on.
Very good photograph. If you would like to participate in the exposition of photographs “Through the spider’s web”, please send us a blank e-mail using "spiders" as the subject, so that we could forward you further information.

Thanks folks. Ron, there was a gentle breeze occasionally shaking the web, and using manual focus, for being as close as I was, I took about 30 shots to find this as the only one that really came out that clear. Maybe I didn't need to shoot on 1/60 sec, as the flash might have made up for the shutter speed with it's own sensors, but I've been pretty happy with results using that speed for (mostly) still objects so far. :) Brian
Great spider in the web photo, I always look out for shots like this and have yet to find one, poor dragonfly, but like you say, life goes on. Good job.
