My first impression was a kind of old artwork that you would see in a museum, the nice textures and tones are great, very creative work..

A little known fact is that Superman actually achieved his lightning speed, by virtue of having "treads" on the bottom of his feet. I think it's highly probable that he had a blowout, while sprinting across the desert one day. This is probably just a remnant of that incident. C'mon Ian.... a tougher quiz next time! ..Brad

damn - now I'm going to have to go digging in that big box of tapes... What occurs to me is the surreal idea of having the sole of a shoe be left on the ground instead of its imprint!

Heh...yeah, I can see it. Mom, with her 'long, petrochemical arms' and military boots...er, arms. Perfect title...inspired even.
And as Jacquie says, it does looks a bit like runes, or hieroglyphics. Another twist/link to Anderson's epic 4-1/2 hour work, "United States," which is all about communication, the lack of and hazards inherent therein.
Wonderful image...

I'm hearing laurie anderson right now and I'm not able any more to associate your tire pieces with an other meaning than "o superman". I like this kind of "wabisabi" shots a lot. lavendu

Not to say I don't care John! Hope I'm not sounding like I don't care. Man I'm full of anxiety for people frankly as well. I just think in twenty years we'll have got beyond todays porblems and we'll have a clearer non political environmental resource issue which will unite us all and put things in perspective.

Frankly more worrid about another 24 years down the track than present day with that issue John. I just go hmmm about todays stuff. My first thought was it looked like a logo, like some nike thing in the pebbles but Laurie Anderson just sprang to mind. I hope I'm being careful enough puting it up. Not getting on any high horse I hear myself plead.
