GReat shot, alamzing that area of Yellowstone, great unusual textures gives fantastic photos and here you have a great element too...the lighting, somehow it is NOT FLAT!!! it changed like you have a tree or something like that back of you to CUT parts of the lights and gives great sceles of the colors, at the same time these vivid bright areas of salt...or anyway what it is... make leyers to your image in horizontial way and 'cut' your subject - frame, excellent photo dear! Be well!

Not only would the serenity have been ruined, Ann, but this is a very fragile area, and access is not allowed. Wildlife (I've seen elk in the area) do walk through and sometimes fall through the fragile surface. Thanks for your comment, Ann. -- Naomi

Oh what a wonderful scene and excellently photographed. Beautiful lines, colours and tones. Lovely flow and composition. I would have loved to have seen something or someone somewhere in the photo just to give me an idea of scale but then that would probably have ruined the serenity so I'll just use muy imagination. :)
