Thanks Michael,
The Carcharocles megalodon is in a debate about being the ancestor to the Great White Shark. But they are not similar.

The diagnal length of this tooth is 3 3/4in. The shark would of been around 35-40 ft Long!!! I am glad I did not see that one, But I did see a few smaller one while I was snorking.

WOW. I have a lot of sharks' teeth that I found walking along the shores of Topsail, NC. I even found a carcharodon megalodon. Mine is just a wee bit smaller then yours. Nice shoot and contrast.

I still haven't gone digital. It will be a long time before I do. I may shoot film till the day it dies. Not sure.
I am just a film type of a guy. I like my 35mm SLR and Medium Format TLR 6cm x 6cm.

Your almost right, this type of shark is the ancestor to the Present Day Great White Shark.

Thanks for the comment. I was shocked to find such a large tooth, in good condition. The estimated size of the shark would of been about 35-40ft long (about the size of a Bus) and it could swallow you whole.
