I go to a privately owned photo store called "Gabrielle Photography", here in Collingwood. The scans are not really high res, but more than good enough for the 11X14 sizes I print. If there is a "Carmen's in Hamilton, you might want to try them. The one here in Collingwood also does a decent job.

Yes, sometimes i do have it scanned on sight. I only develope black and white myself, not color! (scary thought...color developing scares me! Get those chemicals off by one degree everything turns green, or pink...ick!)
This time i had only my negs developed at a pricier place because my usual spot was closed-and i dont think im ever going to go to this place again because i wasnt very happy with the way the negatives looked. (lots of lines through images, scratches etc.)
I also find that sometimes the scans at the labs arnt very high resolution. They look ok, but when you blow them up they look horrid. I found out that you had to say "high res' scan if you want decent scans...and they charge you like 15bucks for the cd.
Youre in ontario richard, where do you go for developing?
I cant say im completely satisfied with anywhere here in hamilton.

Have you tried having your film scanned for you when you get it developed? I'm assuming you don't develop your own! I always had my 35mm scanned at the shop, after developing. That way I got my negs + a disk, instead of prints. Less expensive, but of course I only do prints for shows or sale. Have a good evening CorrieLynn!

Thanks Richard,
and next time, i'll be bringing my tripod!! We go there quite a bit for picnics, hikes etc. I hope to make it back before it gets too cold.
Sorry about the crappy scan. Sometimes its worse than others-i notice its terrible with sky images. This was from the negative, but i wonder if scanning from print would work better-for skys anyway. I really need to get a new scanner...hopefully one that does mf too. It'll be a while though ;)

Interesting composition, I think the scan doesn't do the image justice. Hope you make this location a "must do" with your MF. Looks very similar to a structure near me called Castle Glen.

Very nice framing and composition, Corrie. I like the interpretation, and the angle sets it..:)
