About (7)What can I say.
This charismatic group of birds evoke power, swiftness and grace.
And I am deeply in love with hawks.
This one is a Red-shouldered Hawk.

Well I have looked him up and from my book its hard to tell wheather a red-shoulder or the coopers, the both have the barred tail and colorful chest, but the red shoulder should be chunky and have white and black marking on the back, with a more one colored chest. the size is what makes me believe its the coopers, check my photo again, Notice the redish around the shoulders and the chest, and size....

Hi Lee, Marcus description is accurate.
Few visions in nature can match a raptor perched on a "death tree".
You know exactly how it feels when you get to see them.
Take care buddy.

Im sure yamil is judging the age by the plumage, the juvinille red tail has a stripe across his tail feathers and a less colorful chest, this mature adult has a almost checkered tail when open, and as you can see nice colorful plumage....

Breath taking Yamil
What a perfect shot.
I assume that you age this bird by his colors ?
Kind Regards
Lee
