The play of light and shadow makes this image dance right off my monitor. I love it!! Sumac are one of my favorite fall leaves to photograph. Thanks for sharing yours and thanks also for finding my forest images and giving me feedback.

My first thought was that it looked like leaves hanging on a clothesline so I guess I was thinking along the same lines as you Ina. I like the hanging down composition. Lovely clours and contrasts. Love the shadows and the speckles of gold add texture and interest too. Very eye catching image. Cheers - Ann :)

Beautiful composition, very well seen, Ina. The title is also perfect. The word carnival evokes not only disguising but dancing and these leaves are seem to perform a graceful, still temperamental dance. Warm regards, Gy.

At first glance I thought these were chilies hung up to dry out. This is a lovely colorful tribute to the season and also a compelling abstract. The sunlight shining thru creates such vibrant color and interesting patterns. Great eye, as always! Luvit!

Thanks Kathy for your comment, I've done it on an angle (I tried various crops), but somehow I thought the leaves shoud hang down straight, like on a clothesline. Maybe it wasn't the best decision! I'm having guests tonight, catch up with you soon! Angled crop attached:

Beautiful fall colors, Ina! The dof is great! I keep going back and forth between the three crops that are seen here, and I can't decide which I like best. Actually, I think that I would like to see it at a bit of an angle. Anyway...it's a nice shot!
