Sorry to answer so late, Stefan. The odd one is also marginalized :)))) Thanks for your comments! Ina

Well seen. If the brown one is the odd man out, maybe he shouldn't be relegated to the edge of the image?

Fine details, good rhythm, my favorite of your timber pics. A funny coincidence in life: last weekend I was also shooting autumn leaves and freshly cut logs. I am still considering which ones to put up. Have a nice week: Gyorgy

Thank you Aram for your thoughtful comment. Not only some are "more equal than others" but as you saw, in this picture, the "odd" one is also at the end, or at the edge, which in terms of position may be, so to speak... marginalized! I don't like to explain my pictures in the "About" because I think people understand, and they may also come up with other meanings that I didn't think of. Thanks for writing! Ina

A great abstract. I like the way the light catches the side of the protruding blocks. And the one that stands out in the crowd, of course! AJ

Very nice composition and concept.
(As for being "odd", someone should have defined what the "even" is, before! They're all square-sectionned, non? Some blues are sticking out while the red one is rather well-aligned... And what if we try to think about the patterns and textures of the sections?!...
It is a well known maxim: "humans are all equal, some are more equal than others". Perhaps the right maxim is "the humans are all odd, some are convinced that they are less odd than others!!")
But beyond these socio-philosophical considerations, I like very much these pictures where you give life to ordinary and commonplace objects.
Thanks for sharing.

The title explains that there is an "odd" one. All pieces are blue, and one is reddish-brown. That's how some of us feel in a crowd, in a group, in a society. Different, Mirek, different. You make the rest.
