This is a GREAT shot, Dave. The detail is wondeful. Someday, I'll have a camera that can do this. Right now, as you have seen, I need to shoot through my scope for any detail.
I hope your Astronomy Club is as much fun as ours. We have a marvelous group and have terrific times together doing serious observing, public astronomy, and just getting together to chat and share.

good looking Moon with your 500mm and 1.4 ext.
Is that a L glass lens?
Postprocessing in a main issue here for Moon shots too.
Maybe I can show my Refractor here....lol

Hey Dave, thanks for your comment on my moon shot which prompted me to view this one of yours. Yeah, I totally agree it's difficult to stop blowing out on the hot spots. You've done a pretty good job here though. What always intrigues me is how the moon is positioned differently around the world. I see this was taken in Alberta. Wish I could be back there to try it again. One of the most spectacular areas of the world.
