Elangovan thanks for the comments, she is Indian. Yes I was taking pictures on our wedding night but how could I resist? I was trying to get half of her face in shadow and the other lit up.. it was pretty difficult with candle light. Cheers.

This is a beautiful picture, though the shadow patterns are little odd...

I agree with Jeff on this; She looks every inch a princess...This is a very nice study Chris, I like it a lot. I too rarely do people shots and maybe the pair us ought to do something about it.
The colours are great and I like the shadow play for it adds an air of Eastern mystery.. Well done Chris and very best wishes...Ray

So your wife is Indian...interesting :)
a very pretty shot...as for lighting one of the rules is to try to keep the shadows below the nose and above the lips....if your set light at 45 deg and 2-3 ft above the subject...
Maybe that would have further enhanced the mood...a good shot nonetheless
