Sorry Mark, I'm just getting through to doing my replies - re: my truck picture, I desaturated the color picture - see below desaturated photo - cropped, re-saturated, and used gaussian blur on the background. The light was natural lighting. I had the same idea to leave a bit of landscape showing through the passenger window, then I blurred it (it didn't look OK). But a bit shows still through the opening on the passenger side. I rotated it a bit, and kept the noise down, to get that smooth look. Thanks for asking!

Wonderful shot of this 'Golden Oldie'!!! Fabulous lighting, super crop, nice details and excellent composition... well spotted!!! Love how the name and the pic come together.... if I read it correctly it says Gold Comet and that's just how it feels.... ;-D!!

Where did you get such gorgeous lighting? It looks as if you were in a studio with a skylight over the vehicle. I like the way the truck has a forward tilt, which suggests not motion, but its potential for movement. You did a great job with the neutral background; maybe too good. I would have liked something quasi-recognizable, though, but the way it is, all the attention is directed towards the truck. Compositionally, it would be how I would do it. It's a tight crop, very efficient.

Ina this is lovely, a perfect composition with the diagonal, the dof is spot on..love it contrasted against that background, really makes the car 'pop', and the lighting couldn't be better...wonderfully done..Linda

Beautiful detail and fall color with great light. The DOF creates and illusion with the small scale somehow. When I looked at the thumbnail I thought it might be a shot of a toy truck. I think it's the background that created that effect. I love the detail in this. Also the glow in the background that follows the edge of the hood is a slightly dreamy influence. Good one!

Nice, very nice, old farmer portrait! Exceptionally sharp and well-balanced depth of the field. And the cute "clin d'oeil" of the hachures in the glass to the hachures of the bonnet!... Just great.

How flattering Ina. I'm looking forward to when Multnomah Falls freezes later this year (hopefully) so I can take my first frozen waterfall photos. I know I'll freeze my butt off but it will be worth it after I thaw out. :)

Thanks Ann, you know every time I see a waterfall now I think of you. We have a few around here (not counting Niagara Falls) and they're a real challenge to photograph, because you're up, looking down into a hole. I've done some winter shots though, they're easier when they're frozen!

Wonderful lighting you've capture on this classic. I love the colours and the dark simplistic background. It makes sure nothing distracts me from the car itself. I love the textures in the scratches and rust and the way the chrome shines and relfects is a real bonus. Very nice image. Cheers - Ann :)

Hi Endre, you won't believe from what poor JPEG this came (4MP) cropped from a field picture. I have to admit, the Panasonic is great - other than in dark situations (interiors) when the image is a bit noisy.
