Yes, it is the L series lens, and it is a great lens very good performer,great image quality and the IS does help a lot specially with shaky hands like mine...LOL. the only disadvantage I can find is that it is a bit heavy, the sliding zooming is not a problem in my view. I bet you will enjoy it specially when you see the results...Congratulations in advance...Reda.
