You have found some fabulous houses to photograph. You have preserved their details and texures so grandly. I really like the golden tone to this. Mary

Thanks Colin. As a B+W photographer who struggles with colour images, I really appreciate your input.

I like this one best, from the varied perspectives, of your "Duntroon" collection. Richard. The old, wooden building, nicely fills the picture, and the grazing cow adds some scale.
I always like the autumnal red light at this time of year, as it intensifies the natural colours and contributes a warm tone. These warm colours may oppose the overall abandoned home theme, but I think they combine well, to give a satisfying image.
Regards Colin

Farmhouses from this period (1860's) were built small to conserve heat in our harsh winters. Thanks Marco.

The superb light and colour takes away the lonliness but adds something different. More of a nostalgia of what once was. There is a touch of the eerie in that I see a black robed person holding a stick, in the doorway above the front door. I was reading the forums, saw one of your posts and that you are from Collingwood. I have been up that way many times. There is an old home on Highway 26 between Barrie and Wasaga that I spent hours photographing. I have posted it in colour (Light of Day), sepia (Nostalgia)and B/W (After Midnight) to capture the many moods I was feeling the house had. I also went inside, just had to :-) and posted a shot of the rubble entitled 'Down and Out'. There is also an incredible house (waiting...) on the corner of Highway 10 and 89 just west of Alliston. I had many trips to Camp Borden this summer as my son was in basic training so took the opportunity to explore.

Thanks CorrieLynn. The light was wonderful for about 20 minutes that evening. I am pleased with the results.

I love the colors in this, and the way we can see whats hidden on the shadowed side of the house. I think this is my favorite out of your old house pictures.

Thanks again Vanessa. Well some days I do feel a little like the Tin Man. Maybe some oil (or a single malt Scotch) will help???????

Thanks Sergio. I like the colour version too, but I sell mostly B+W. Maybe this colour shot will change that.

Hi Richard, Like most people have already commented, the light is wonderful in this shot. A very well composed and balanced image as well. Whenever we drive home from the cottage at the time of night when the shadows are long, I always want to get out and take shots of everything. Andre

Love old rural stuff and this one is very well done. Good end of the day colors highlighting the end of the earlier dignity. Great stable layout and dramatic skies. Well presented. n.j
