About I took this last October while driving through the Dixie National Forest. I thought it was unusual to see only one tree with all its leaves still. The scene was rather grey and I thought the color seperation worked better than a straight shot. I may still tinker with this a little more as I have time.

I guess I haven't found a good instance for using the color range selection method. Every time I've attempted to use it the results aren't what I have expected.

Actually this didn't take long at all. It is all about using the right technique. In PS "Select" > "Color Range" can help with the selection process, but you have to have the right subject for it... or it can get messy. Utlimately it is a faster way of doing this.

I always thought doing something like this would be cool, but never wanted to get involved in doing every, single leaf. How long did it take you to do this?! The final result certainly made it worth it.

Colour separation on an image like this is more like some sort of cruel punishment.. I'm not a fan of this technique because I think it has to be done well or not at all and I haven't been able to make it work yet. It works well here.

The color separation is a creative idea, well executed & like the tone of what's predominantly a b&w image. Good job Jim, regards.
