About I had a few more images I intended uploading after ?Culture and Love?, but I left Warsaw for Tarifa and forgot to take them with me? But now I?m back in Poland for a while.

This one was an attempt to capture the compressed perspective of the hills and streetcar lines of an American city in a flat Polish context.

That ?palm tree? really does exist, a plastic addition to the downtown landscape.

Contrast adjustment and cropping in PSP9. Complex joke in Polish.

Hi Irena! But don't you think it makes the place look all warm and tropical?!
John

PS. The ratings don't appear to be working at present anyway...

Well, John, I must be honest on this one - I don't like it. Too gray and depressive, too often I see the city in this way... and don't want to be reminded of that on pictures! lol

I like the shiny perspective of the tram tracks though, and if I try cropping it just above tha 'palm tree'... looks quite different!

I don't want to spoil your rating statistics on Xmas, but would be in the lower half... ;)

Personal prejudice against gray cityscapes, perhaps? ;)

The added contrast (PS) really make sthe image pop ... with the bright rail lines and the dark pavement.
Nice.

Wow John, this is a great shot. Have to agree with alot of what Paul wrote above. Fantastic composition and great contrast. The strong blacks and the tram rails look great. I agree with Paul, the palm tree threw me. Looks much nicer than I remember it which is a good thing for sure. Shot should be on the front page. Great work, Mark 7+

Good shot, John. Making it B&W was a good choice. Gives it a gritty downtown feel. The abstract lines of the overhead wires and tracks add to that feeling. Well seen. Cheers, Ann.

great image.. the palm tree did throw me off, plastic addition..wow... I can't help but see how you could take this photo vertically and directly down the tram lines.. those tracks looks so cool... good work....

Excellent dinamic perspective. I love the wave of the train, feeling the dinamism of hte street, the breath of the city.
My regards, Larissa

I don't get the joke, but I like the strong image very much. It is stark and complex reflecting a very committed vision.

Regards,

I'm so glad you caught up with your pictures of Poland again. This is very imaginative and the post processing helps it look its best.

Hi John, I like the contrast and perspective. The overhead streetcar wires create a tunnel feeling. Well done, cheers.
