You are both right! Clever! I used a beamer, and projected on a white wall. It works a bit as a backdrop, with as the main difference that it projects op the subject as weel, as a kind of "frontdrop". The trick was used already in the era of the slide projector. If you use a semitransperant screen and put the projector behind it you can work is as a real backdrop.
Here it works in an additional way, it is far more a confrontation between the subject and the image of the subject; the harpist resting on the harp and being played herself by the harpist...
The picture "harpscape" was made in the same way.

Tough image to read...
This is what I think. You used a movie screen and projected an image to serve as a backdrop. :)
