About After the war of 1812, the Rideau Canal was built to create a shipping route that was safe from American attacks. The southern entrance to the canal is at Kingston, it was protected by four of these Martello Towers. The canal entrance was also protected by three forts. All of which are still standing in the Kingston area.

This is one of my first ventures into night time photography.

read in your profile where you live. In the past month, I went of King sound to the thousand islands. On my trip through Ontario, I learned also of the building of this canal, that was constructed at that time out of fear before an American attack. A very disposition full picture. Sincerely Gerhard
