Gabriela, thank you so much for your comments! I have had only a few minutes to review your portfolio and I am truly blown away. If my use of the language is confusing, I mean that I am in awe of your work! As you probably guessed, I am attracted to Asian art but have the problem of no longer living there and am now in Southern California, where it is difficult sometimes finding true Asian art. In the next day or so, I intend to study your work and thank you for including me in your friend section. You too, are mine and I look forward to enjoying more of your work. Thank you Gabriela and may we enjoy each other's work in the future...Gary

I love the angle of shooting and the colours, the Buddhist architecture being one of my favourites. Here gols and reds are rather muted and the bluish hue on the walkway gives the shot a liitle eerie look. The ornamented heads and the shadows they create are so lovely! All in all, it is my type of photo! Best regards, Gabriela

You're absolutely right Roger. On the color subtlety scale, Japan is the lowest regiter, while the Chinese gaudy things up a bit, and the Thais hit you in the face with the Red and Gold! I've witnessed that in all three lands especially in Thailand where I lived for four + years. So even here in the "new" world the replicas follow in that order, normally being designed by the countrymen of those places. As you know, they all derive from the Chinese art, but certainly Japan is a more subtle, flowing, and gentle form...Gary

In Japan we tend towards more subtle colour schemes... DOF is perfect and that row of knobso really gives a strong perspective.

Thanks Jacques. This place has so many great photo ops, I plan to go back soon. Asian art is very intriquing to me and their simplicity yet great detail in architecture is welcome to a photographer's eye. Thanks for commenting...Gary
