About Part of the Wanuskewin cultural centre just outside of Saskatoon, just after a brief late-fall blizzard. The subtle colours and textures of the day combined to create a very "painterly" sort of feel to the image.

Hi, Clay - it's a straight colour shot, right as it came out of the camera, basically, save only for the cropping and vignetting. It was very late fall, and we had just had a brief but quite ferocious blizzard, which muted all the colours and added a very painting-ish sort of air to the image.

cheers,

Jon

Great shot, but the muted brown tone. Is it color film or toned b&w? I wonder as the vignetting shows that you have put a lot of work into the presentation.

Hi, Gayle -

Thank you for your kind comments. This is at Wanuskewin, a cultural centre and museum just outside of Saskatoon that includes 8,000 year old archaeological sites. I was out walking the trails after a meeting there late this fall. It had snowed, suddenly and fiercely, which gives it the painterish look.

Cheers,

Jon

hi and thanks for comment even if you would not want it on your wall !..LOL..just teasing ya
This caught my eye since i am of Native heritage and was curious about the image...thought it was a painting you shot...i lived with some former college friends in one of these when i first came to the state of WA back in the mid-70's....we had a woodstove in ours to keep toasty....

You did a beautiful job with this shot and the presentation, too ....regards,gayle

I see that the post immediately after mine is the very aptly-titled "Nude on Beach". A quite tasteful monochrome of - you guessed it - a nude woman lying on a beach. I'm going to bet it gets more hits than mine :-]
