You make Long Beach look like a nice place to visit. The colors here on bright and cheerful. Keep taking those vivid colorful shots!

No, not really so much a firm hand as just practicing to keep still. I cringe when I see people using their digital camera monitor screens for shooting. They hold the camera out away from their body while shooting and wonder why the image is blurred. I keep the camera flush against my face, use the viewfinder, elbows in, take a deep breath and hold, then sqeeeeeze the shutter release button. That way my whole body is acting like a bi-pod, so to speak. Also I try to keep my shutter speed at 100 or faster when possible. Low light and/or macro shooting is another story of course...

Thank you Ricardo for responding to my photo! It is always good to hear from you and I appreciate your time in reviewing my work. Most, probably 99%, of my work is done hand-held. I do not do any macro work at the present time because I do not have the appropriate lens for it. So I have a tripod that I use for some studio work and headshots of myself (I'm a SAG actor and use headshots to get work), but other than that I hardly ever use my tripod. I also own a monopod that I intend to use at some public places, but have not yet experimented with. Thank you for asking and again thank you for commenting on my work...Gary

Did you get your name written on a grain of rice? And have a personalized rice necklace? How could you resist?

I've walked along here a few times. I love these stores. Lovely strong colours amke the place look like so much fun and it is. I get myself into trouble there all the time (or I used to when I lived in CA) I love all those interesting nic nacky shops. Thanks for the memories. Cheers - Ann :)

Thank you Rashed! I enjoy your work very much. Your portfolio is unique and very creative. The Katoys don't do much for me, but I guess as portraiture photography, their okay. Very nice work on your other scenes and thank you again for reviewing my work...Gary
