Hi Barry and thanks for letting me know. This is in fact the entry that I sent in for the final Macro round. I wasn't going to bother entering but then I did a U turn and shot it on Monday evening - I had to scramble to get it over to London in time. The problem this time around was the print came out crap - I did it in a local lab which is normally great but this time was disappointing. Anyway we'll see how it goes. As for the judging, well, from my point of view I will admit to pretty impartial when critiqing other work. If I see a good shot I will give it the praise and recognition it deserves. The problem is I felt the judging for this competition was peculiar - Paul Whiting is a good photographer but hes not as good as the size of his lead suggests. In fact I think that Grover in second place is better. It was an enjoyable contest none the less - the Texture round win made it financially viable too (just about!) I might give it a lash again next year but I did promise myself to try and step away from the amateur side of photgraphy and start concentrating on it as a serious career. That is until I see the overview of rounds for 2006!!
Any luck yourself this time round?

Very cool. Love the colour and the overall results.
Thought you'd want to know the results of APOY. You came in fifth this time. Paul Whiting was sixth and Ray Grover was fourth. I've gotta say that I think they're playing games a bit as Paul's photo wasn't great and Ray's lacked any structure at all! The winning photo is very dull. I reckon you was robbed. Anyway, you're nine points behind Ray so you need a storming last round!

Antoher good one, although I find the perspective in the prior image more dramatic. Well done.

Also stunning, although I prefer the balance of the previous one. I'm actually surprised that the shutter was 1/125 - I find the clarity remarkable for this speed, considering the movement of the water. AJ
