Beautiful shot, Alison - just dripping with symbolism! :) I really like the way you composed this to frame only the sea and the sand with the footprints. Great sweeping diagonal lines in this, too, and the subtle little line left by the waves is a really cool addition!

Wow Alison, a poetic image and wonderful words. One of my very favorites is "Footprints" I almost cry when I read that, and this made me think of that! Beautiful work, very nice composition and colors! Great work my friend!

If only all footprints/influences we leave behind were positive the world would be a nicer place - Lovely words to match a very very excellent image. Fits the category so well great textures, colours and light. Like the way it seems as though shadows fall across some footprints, maybe those are the less positive ones :) Margaraet

this is true but the journey starts long before than a person walks on the beach or he is able to say he is on path.i dont know where it starts from, but i feel it is one very intrinic quality that everyone is endowed with, but later i dont why, it goes in many direction and each direction has its positive, negative and neutral factor. i heard "love" is the most mysterious path whose footprints, lover creates insearch for his beloved no one can influnce him no one can create it for him it is he who byhis own buring desire create and walk on it and in his search he transcends the mandane live and become divine only if the love is true....... than his footprints truly becomes the mirror for the later generation not to follow, but they can only persuade u to move towards love towards ur beloved. the second mysterious path that i heard is prayer it is really a mysterious thing for me who to pray how to do it and on this pray cannot be copied neither can it be influnced why because a presence of the person who u are praying is required as i feel no comunication is possible without the other to seek that other is the search. and that search arise out of living in this moment compelely not by any commandments not through someoneelses point of u but what do u feel it too arise out of ones own living it cannot come out of influence i have seen childerns imitating but what they imitate is the society behaviour how to live in society what to talk and what not to .......my concern here is to create ur own road find ur lover in whose feet u can put the flower of feelings and love the person without conditions .. the last i heard is again most mysterious in all the three it is the journey within close ur eyes and try to catch him..... i heard a poem from wanderers of bengal they lived in the past now i dont think anyone lives but their poetry is safed
never plunge into the river of lust, you will not reach the shores. it is the river of no coasts where typhoons rage. go to the home of beauty and form, should u wish to see the man within. his ways cross the sphere, where life lives with death, and sense with insanity. close your eyes and try to catch him, his is slipping by....... i like the images very much the division between land and water is beautiful and on top of it a story told by the imprinted feets beautiful....

Alison, this is a great shot! Loved the colors and clarity. Every little detail made this one spectacular especially the ridge left in the sand by the washing out tide and the water rushing back out...not to mention the perfect imprint of the bottom of the persons shoe! Congratulations! Danielle

Reminds me of an ode to summers passing. The long shadows on the sands are nice and somewhat unusual as one doesn't normally see trees near the coast here. Very well done Alison. Wonderful commentary as well.
