About There is something to me so very peaceful and serene about these two swans swimming and feeding together. I had been looking for and hoping for swan shots the entire three days that my wife and I were on our long weekend, but it wasn't till on our way home that I found these two beauties. I felt an urge to turn down a little side road on the way home. I found a quiet little bay with this pair of swan feeding less than 10 yards from shore. I probably took 50 shots of them, a beautiful time. Thank you Lord. Hope you like it.

Thank you Jan for your comments.

They were feeding and you are right the one has a bit of seaweed it is in the act of downing. I am not that familiar with swans. They have only in the past few years come to this part of the country, but they make good use of their long necks in gathering plants from under the water. Every so often one or both of them would turn tail up and go under the water for a time and come up with various plants hanging from their mouths and chow them down. Very interesting to watch.

I think it's just so special that these birds mate for life. I didn't really mention my reason for the name of this picture, to me it's just really neat that they bond in that way.

Again thanks for commenting.

What a lovely shot. The lighting and focus is super and the way you caught them in this shot with both of their beaks dripping water, and the water rippling away - nice. It does appear as if the swan on the right of the screen has something besides the water dripping down - but I don't think I want to examine too closely. Great reflections too and perfect cropping/composition. I do like the fact that there is nothing showing in the background to distract from the graceful lines of these two beauties. Well done, and certainly well worth the wait. Jan

This was well worth the wait, David! This shot is gorgeous! I love the water dripping from both of their beaks, and the reflection in the ripples that they are producing! Wonderful shot...God is good and His creation is fantastic!
