Patterns and tones appear very well balanced, B&W is the right choice. Very good tonal quality. A bit distracting for me are the OOF branches @ the upper border; not a major issue

Thank you for your encouragement. B&W is definitely a challenge for me. For some reason it seems that my eye is not as reliable in separating the good from the not-so-good in my own work when it comes to B&W. But I had a definite feeling of liking this one so perhaps my eye is developing...

Great B & W Mark! I like the different darker mood in this one! The curved branch is beautiful, so is the white top of the trees and the dark water. I can feel the cold - it's a somber image, one that a poet would love.

Great capture with wonderful reflections...perfect, Mark!
I have a slight preference for the B&W version, maybe it's just because I'm experimenting at B&W myself too. Anyhow, the 2 versions are amazing.
