I love this with the lack of background. The details of the bird really stand out. This is a fabulous shot.

He's right Andre, I try not to stay too long because I don't want them to leave but their nest is right on the side of a busy road and I have seen lots of people stop and just watch them. They seem to be pretty comfortable there but I don't want to scare them off. There is also lots of hunting in the same area, can't figure out why they come back year after year with all that shooting going on. I would be a little skiddish if I were them! Darlene

Hi Darlene,
I think Marcus was telling me about the same distance too. He tells me It's not good to get much closer than that or you risk the chance of scaring them away from their nests for good. He was talking about hawks. It makes sense though.

Thanks so much Fred, I took these eagle shots in southern Louisiana. Seems like we're seeing more and more of them and it's really wonderful! We have a camp and these were taken about 3 miles from there. Darlene

Oh my goodness Sam, I just looked at what you added and it's beautiful! I've got to learn how to do this! And I don't mind at all my friend! I wish you lived closer, maybe I could take some PS lesson from you, you certainly know how to do it!!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Krystal is feeling good, she wanted to go shopping on "Black Friday" and Mason and I got tired long before she did. She is really enjoying her good feelings, she starts radiation next week but the doc told her that there's a new machine (not like the one they used 6 years ago) and that it just targets that one area so we're all excited about that. It's so good to see her feeling good again, thank you so much for all the thoughts and prayers, I know they're working!! Take care my friend.......Darlene

Thanks Andre, I guess I'm about 75 yards or so from them, sometimes they land in a tree closer to me but not always! Darlene

Thanks so much Michael. It's not easy getting these guys out in the open without all kind of branches in front of them so I was happy about this one! Darlene

Hi My Friend Darlene!

I Have to tell you. I was treated with some wonderful images this morning while trying to catch up with my comments.

I Love the Eagle Series your are doing. They are such the Majestic Bird. This shot is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Awesome. What a Prefect Display of the Raw Power they possess.
I only could have wished to see some sort of color in the sky or a cloud formation. I think that would have made this Fantastic Photo and Out of the World Photo.

I got to messing with it Just to see what it would look like with a different Bg.
I hope you don't mind, This is what I came up with.
Let me know what you think!
Best Regards

Sam III

PS
I hope your Thanksgiving went well and that you and your family are doing fine. Tell Krystal I said Hello and I hope and Pray for Her continued Improvement.

Darlene -- Eagles are such majestic creatures, aren't they? I like the composition in this image: nice, clean background with nothing to distract from the eagle; the eagle has plenty of forward space in the image; and the eagle is caputured in a dramatic pose. Well done.
