Thank you Mark for your kind comments. You won't believe this, but the bicycle (1980) picture took a lot longer than my Mariner composition, because of all the different lighting and tonalties, it was an excruciating exercise. Color subjects are much easier! Now I have a new appreciation for B & W and sepia and many thanks again!

Although this is a montage, it's so well put together that I see it as a unified piece, and doesn't look "put together." Each element supports the other, merging seamlessly in front of and behind. I'm sure this took many hours, and the quality is as always, typically one of your strengths.

I like way this is presented. The Old window frame, the photo of your dad saluting within the frame and of course the boat running its course...

Ina, this has to be my favorite of your layer comps. It's a beautiful assortment of past and present. and all the elements work incredibly well together.

This is a beautiful creation, dearest Ina! I like all the elements that took part in its birth. It really creates the impression that the boat sails past the house! Gabriela

Another nice combination, dear Ina. i like the difference of scale between the ship and the background doorframe. The contrast between the speed of the ship and the static frame is also exciting. The boy is lovely, looking boldly into the future. Warm regards, Gyuri

This quickly moved into the position of my favorite in your series of these types of shots. Lots of symbolism here. Makes for a great feel. I'll bet Dad is going to love this! Kathy

Thanks Neal, I love his costume in this picture, and by making the boat smaller in scale, I thought it looked like a toy boat :)

He's going to love this when he finally gets to look at it. I particularly enjoy the bright foreground colors and the maonochromatic background. A beautiful dream image.

Thank for your kind comments, Aram! I love doing these montages - taking disparate pieces and putting them together to create a story, an image a scenario. It is very rewarding - as I'm not a photographer of anything in particular, I don't specialize in any subject. I like taking pictures of anything, but mostly I like using pictures. I am very happy when someone else enjoys looking at these mini-environments that do not exist in real life. Thanks for writing! PS - I was inspired by your picture with the mannequins "Just wanted to go to the beach" - which I think is an exceptional surreal image - and got some pictures of mannequins which I'll be using as my "people" in the upcoming posts. Thanks for the inspiration!

This is a very nice collage with a touch of humor (as I feel it) through the bit of blue sky behind the boat's cabine window. Your father is great with his serious right hand and the non-chalent left one in his pocket!... Please do continue to create such sources of pleasure playing with pieces of pictures; you have the talent of freeing the child inside you in a graceful manner. Thanks for sharing.
