About: Photography has been in my blood since I took my first photo at 6 years old. Whilst flirting with this passion in a semi-professional basis when leaving school, it was only in my 30?s that I had decided to leave the corporate world and truly dedicate myself full time to this incredibly rewarding art form and now, career.
The real passion kicked in after some extended travel to South America, Europe and Asia. Over a period of a few years I found that photography was an amazing medium to allow one to be involved in some of the most incredible cultures on our planet.
My favourite photo is still the one titled ?Taking Care?. It has won a few International Awards but most importantly it reminds me of the incredible experience and richness gained by sharing some time with some truly remarkable people. Quite a lot of these photos are for sale through various outlets and a percentage of the proceeds goes directly to charities such as UNICEF who are involved in the education of children in developing countries.
My concentration now is on a hugely important part of all cultures, the celebration of marriage. To date I have been incredibly lucky to have covered hundreds of weddings involving over 20 distinct cultures across many different countries in The Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and The Middle East.
With all types of cultural based photography, whether it is living with the villagers in the remote parts of Northern Laos or being trusted to cover a society wedding in London, I have always found the key to getting the best results is to know and respect those who you are privileged to be sharing those moments with.
To immerse yourself in the celebration of life rather than stand on the edge looking at it through a camera lens will bring more reward than simply great photos.
