Beautiful image.
We just got back from vacation from Negril. Beautiful county and people. This looks like Bloody Bay near Sunset at the Palms' beach (Next to RIU). Can't wait to go back.

Great idea but a lot of times when taking portraits in bright sunlight you can get the subject frowning and skwinting due to the glare. Side lighting and pose is not as flattering.

Very nice image. One of Nature's Wonders Note: The area is very suseptable to damage from hikers. I recommend to all that do go to take care when hiking near and any use of tripods should have rubber feet extended to cover any metal spikes. (Leave No Trace)

Julie, Thank you very much. You have many beautiful and interesting images in your portfolio.
I was pleased with the results of this image considering it was a very, bright, cloudless day. The coordinates are for the exact location in the Chicago Botanical Garden in Glencoe, Illinois, North of Chicago. There are many images that are posted on usefilm of places I would like to see in person and I thought I might start posting GPS coordinates in case anyone else would like to do the same of any of my images. This was the first image I have posted the coordinates to but I may go back into my portfolio when I have time to add this information to other images.

Peter, Thank you for the complement. My first time taking images of flowers. I have always stayed away from posting or competing with flower images as I never felt I could get the image as good as I wanted. I wish it were possible to show the original. The file size for posting doesn't due it full justice. I have attached a close up of the center of one flower.
I would recommend the Kodak Z1275 camera to anyone. 12Mb @ less than $200. It can also do in-camera panormic stitching. Robin

Paul,
Thank you for you praise. You have an extensive and beautiful portfolio. Great model work. I'm envious! Congradulations on the photo award and the great new tool. The results you show from the older Kodak DX6490 is definately nothing to complain about either.

Chad,
Very nice image. Hope everything is going well for you. I have not seen you at the Schaumburg Area Camera Club events this year. Schaumburg meets on the 2nd and 4th Mondays with competition again on March 24th.
I hope that if Schaumburg Area CC did not meet your needs/schedule that you were able to find a club that could. Keep up the good work and hope to see you sometime. Keep in touch. Robin Dunham

Regarding Truth.....
Albert Einstein: Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.
Alfred North Whitehead: There are no whole truths: all truths are half-truths. It is trying to treat them as whole truths that plays the devil.
Anais Nin: When we blindly adopt a religion, a political system, a literary dogma, we become automatons. We cease to grow.
Andre Gide: Believe those who are seeking the truth; doubt those who find it.
Bertrand Russell: What a man believes upon grossly insufficient evidence is an index into his desires -- desires of which he himself is often unconscious. If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence. The origin of myths is explained in this way.
Blaise Pascal: There are truths on this side of the Pyranees, which are falsehoods on the other.
Brad Holland: Postmodernists believe that truth is myth, and myth, truth. This equation has its roots in pop psychology. The same people also believe that emotions are a form of reality. There used to be another name for this state of mind. It used to be called psychosis.
Buddha: Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it. Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held. Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books. Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin. Believe nothing just because someone else believes it. Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true. [paraphrased]
Daniel Patrick Moynihan: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.

Ben, Fantastic surrealist image! Your images are some of my favorite "Alteration of Reality" work.
Luis had asked is it a photo? Art is many things to many people. Photography is the same. Some see photography as only a way to capture reality. If that were true we would not use different lenses, filters, and lighting to adjust reality to the way that we "wish" to see it. A camera is as much a tool for a artist as a paintbrush and pallet. This is why most digital editing controls use painting terms. Beautiful work! Cheers, Robin

Chad, This was from a club photoshoot that we did for Barbazon School of Modeling. I haven't looked at the schedule, but we should be having another this season. All you will need is a camera has either a hot shoe, or lighting sync port. We have member that will bring in lighting. Best way to learn is to do. Robin

Chad, No problem at all. Glad I could help. The photo is really a layer of 2 photos and a little erasing. I set up a tripod and a IR remote and took an image while I was sitting on a stool. I then took another image without the stool and myself in it. Layered the 2 images, erased the stool, and cloned the pants leg fabric down so that it would not look like I had been sitting on something. Pretty quick and dirty on the editing but it was just for fun. Robin
