Joe,

Thank you for your comments. Your revision comes up on my monitor as bright blue. I am about to calibrate as I have a brand new monitor which may be set too blue, hence an over-emphasis on yellow when my images are displayed on yours. It was early evening in October and sun was fairly low through low cloud so there was a pronounced yellow-orange cast to everything. All comments greatly appreciated.

An excellent capture of the seas in these conditions, Martin! Great moment to capture with the waves breaking, and to know it's a life boat station adds to the drama. I like the colouring and lighting, personally I wouldn't change it, but I might crop to just above the horizon, to have a little less of the sky. Very nicely composed, otherwise!

CC photo. So I'd critique it by saying that I played around with different crops, but realized that you have what should be there, right there. It's not just the wave breaking, or part of the old station, but that it is in that environment, that setting, and the wave coming from the sea is as much about the sea beyond. The only change I made was to remove some color cast, and make it a bit bluer. It's a good camera, that captured detail even in the shadows of the distant hills.

Hugo, many thanks for your comments and I agree the tree tops do seem to have lost it at the edges. I have adjusted them in the main image as shown by importing part of theorginal file. Your comment spurred me on, I was getting lazy!

Hi Martin, awesome scenery, and I really like the pastel tones in the sky. The composition, with the shrubs in the foreground, and the build up with the larger trees on the left, allowing the eye to "escape" to the spaceous left and the skyscape is fantastic. The trees on the left, crossing the horizon into the sky seem to be a bit washed away by the sky - something that happened during the postprocessing?

Cheers,

Hugo

Thanks for your comments. What I particularly like about this image is that in 2D it is a hopeless mess, but in 3D the layers and details all separate into their rightful places and it all becomes comprehensible.

Looks like the gull flew in at last minute and blocked the shot because of the extreme depth of filed. Well done. hard to believe it was shot at f/4

Excellent. Is it smoke? It has formed a very beautiful shape here that reminds me of a horse turning its head. Beautiful... 25 attempts really paid off... well done.
