Wonderful, just wonderful Ken. I would like to have a go at turning this into an 'impressionist' style image, would you consider sending me the original? My email is tommorules@ntlworld.com . I will understand entirely if you don't want to, of course!
Regards,
Steve.

There might be a word, but it's never been used for one of my pictures Onur. Thank you very much for your kind words! Much appreciated!

Thank you Peter, yes, I got your comment before I deleted the earlier photo. Made me laugh! I promise not to try balancing on fence posts in future!!

Cool capture, Gary. Somewhat perversely the blue heron is known as the grey heron here in the UK!?

A real nice picture monterey, but I'm confused by the settings you've used. 1/60s would be OK to catch motion blur in the wings, but then so would 1/1000s with the speed that a hummingbirds wings move at! The problem here is you have motion blur on the plant too, moving in the wind I guess, and that is distracting.

Don't be affraid to shoot at higher ISO settings, the 300D is pretty good noise-wise!

Regards
Steve.

Mind-blowing colours, Ken, fantastic. This could just use a little sharpening IMHO.

If I could only get my lawn that green... I'd be a happy man!

Amazing photo Bob, the detail is fantastic (you can really pump the contrast in B&W, can't you!!). A shame the sky is a little bland, but that only goes to emphasise the rest of the photo. Thank you, by the way, for your comment on "Fishin'".

Steve.

Given that I only have the thumbnails to go on I would say that the blues in the final image are obviously more pronounced, which is nice, but you have lost some of the foreground, i.e. the car tracks. It was the tracks that drew me to commment in the first place, so I guess I prefer the first pic! Just my opinion of course!

Hope you don't mind, but I had a little play with this, see below; a couple of passes through Nik neutral density filter to lighten the foreground and darken the sky.
Cheers,
Steve.
