Manu, i didn't change any settings at the camera though i use manual option. WB and curve was at the default. I'm planning to download some curves that is set to give certain color slides quality and i'll let you know once i have some pictures taken using this curves. Should be interesting!

I've done minimal changes in PS (reduce brightness and increase slightly the contrast. I've attached the original file for your viewing).
Here are the setting details :
Exposure time : 1/320 sec
F-stop : 4.5
Focal Length : 70.0mm

Excellent shot and yes indeed...very touching. Photo filled with sadness and the colour of the wall and stairs really brings out the emotion.
