Beautiful golden colors against the dappled background. I'm not sure why, but my first emotional response to this was one of sadness -- maybe a favorite sitting spot shared with someone who is now gone. Like I said, I don't know why the response. Thanks for your comments on my images Oxbow Bend and Inspiration Point images (sorry I didn't respond sooner -- I've been traveling). -- Naomi

Thanks for your comment, Jon. The background is a bay, hence the slanting horizon. I did play with straightening it, but that skewed the plants to the right, so I went back to the way it was shot. Thanks for looking. -- Naomi

Nice close up. I like the contrast of the soft curves of the fluff and the harder straight lines going into the middle. -- Naomi

Congats on the Best in Project!
This IS a very elegant image. I like the contrast of the yellow-green against the very dark blue; and of the rounded shapes of the leaves against the stright line reflections of the tree. Reminds me of some of Andy Goldsworthy's work. Nicely done. -- Naomi

I've been tending to other projects for a couple of months and am now catching up on UF comments. Thanks for your October comment on my image, "Debris."

This is a cool image. I would have like a tighter focus, but I understand the difficulty of shooting without a tripod. This is well composed. Interesting colors. -- Naomi

I've been tending to other projects for a couple of months and am now catching up on UF comments. Thanks for your October comment on my image, "Post Hurricane Katrina." I'd be interested in hearing how your son is doing since his return to NO. (you can write to me at weidnern@earthlink.net)

This is a reall beautiful image. You are a wonderful photographer of birds, but this one is particularly stunning. The lighiting and DoF are perfect. We can see every feather. -- Naomi

Nice image of a puffer fish, Gary. Last winter in Baja I had one nearly land on my head. A gull had picked up, and I assume couldn't eat it. It landed about a foot from me and was still alive for a moment. -- Naomi

Seeing the world through other peoples' eyes is part of the enjoyment of UF for me, Ann. When we travel, my spouse and I will often spend a lot of time in one spot, each of us moving (independent of the other) around taking pics. It's always interesting to see what the other has captured and sometimes surprising that we come up with nearly identical shots. -- Naomi

Beautiful tones and textures. The buildings fading into the sky lends a sense of mystery, or perhaps a sense of the timelessness of the rocks -- that they will be there long after the buildings are gone. Beautiful image, Marky. -- Naomi
