About During the last week of school getting out our local HS which is very small lost 3 kids in one week.

One was actually killed in the war- but had recently graduated and lived here all his life, the other 2 were car accidents... I was taking my usual back road route around town from the hospital and found this Crime Scene & it was afternoon ...I walked around the Yellow tape & could see personal belongings all inside & outside of the vehicle & I had to take pictures--- just 3 tho....
and it's taken me this long to even post this image.... I guess I would never make a good reporter if the news is not good , and bad news is what appears to sell :((

Anyway this is for Mr. Midnight - - -

I am pretty sure the folks in this vehicle were not from the HS and that it was not a fatality but I started worrying about driving in tourist traffic and the thought grew & grew...tomorrow is my last day delivering flowers but I did learn where everyone lives and meet lots of nice people ........

I LOVE CSI & would have loved to be there for those scenes shot where Marni (& You?)
work.
No, No , No Doyle NOT ME I can't take pictures & drive- altho I have seen a few taken that way right here too...Nope - I am not a multi -tasker in the car-...can't even talk on the phone & drive altho the rest of world seems to:))

Thank YOU for your time & my fingers are crossed for a photoshoot for both YOU & Marny...

Regards,
Michele~

Ooooh . . . the world of PJ (photojournalism) . . . CSI reminds me that yesterday on my short drive home the CSI hummer from the Miaimi show pulled out of the studios and right in behind me. Felt kind of surreal though we see it quite a bit . . . They filmed at the Nikon building across from Marny's office too. We get notified when they film gun fights so no officers shoot back . . . good idea, huh?

A good reminder here too, Michele. I have seen more than a few posted shots by photographers (even here on UF) who take shots while they are driving. That's usually not a very good idea! :P

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thank YOu dear Ahmed ..I appreciate your great comment - personally I would rather have no cars... just public transportation , bicycles, and scooters maybe :)) your life becomes soooo out of control the second you get inside a car on the hyway... . or road...

With much appreciation ,
michele~

Its relieving in a little way that it was not a fatality! The state that car is in shows how bad it is, though. Its so sad that somehow people take for granted how important it is to follow the regulations for their own safety and that of others. If I think back, it would have been such shocking news for me as we did not have these until a few years back. With the growing population here, the last few years we have had a couple of serious accidents here too.
Its a very good journalistic shot!
Regards, Ahmed

Michele -- Good documentary and most likely a testament to driving too fast and/or alcohol-impaired driving. Many of these are avoidable. Good crop and you weren't tempted to the long shot but more for the visual impact.

Good job here Michele. I like the tight crop - it helps to make the image more impactfull (pun not intended, honest!) This photo of yours really tells the strory well, especially since it does include part of the 'donut tire' as pointed out already by the keen eyed 'Mr. CM.'

This is a terrific photo, Michelle. We run into the issue of publish/no publish all the time and never know quite what to do. It isn't always so dramatic either. We took a photo of an elderly couple, then when we got home, realized that they were in the middle of a huge fight. The photo was hilarious, but it is still sitting in the limbo file. We once published a rather pathetic photo of a homeless man also and got skewered for that. But surely these and subjects like yours are important. Otherwise we're just coffee table photographers. Glad you uploaded this one.

Thank YOu for your great comment dear John & hope I am greatful you understand how dangerous the cars are- everyday I move off the street ( while at work ((( for another accident ...& I don't want to get into one but it's out of my control if one car should hit me so no mmore driving in the summer - no more floral delivery - If I stop suddenly the flowers fly & its a mess too.....
Cheers,
Michele~

An excellent photo for everybody like the most of us they drive a car and at the same time we are...alive....to be a bit more carefull for us and for the others we use the same road...

You're welcome, my dear Michele! No need for thanks. I am just to happy and hopeful for Srna.

Hope you get some rest. I actually feel younger now than I have in years. About a year and a half ago, I was in terrible physical shape...a few steps from a wheelchair. Now my whole life is different and my health is better than it's ever been. What a difference that makes!:)))

I was laying in bed resting my eyes ...and I blinked & could view a message on the pc.. . . .They were from You - I had to 'Thank You' as poorly as it may be at this hour for me... I mean I will 'Thank You properly in the morning for all of your kindness and help dear Shirley ....I mean it & I do appreciate it so very much .... and I am a bit less than 2 yrs. younger than You so that is nothing at our age .... we're happy to be alive - right !
Hugs, Michele~

groan... another wreck. Okay, here goes. Cause: High speed on a temporary donut tire resulting in loss of control and traction wherein the driver's last thought was "gee, how'd that happen?"

I'll assign a case number and submit my bill to the usual place, thank you very much.

Mr. CM

Hi Beks, Sorry if I offened you ...but sometimes people need a reminder .... I am such a yacker that I blab when I change jobs, or most anything on my mind...and this was the begining of the end of my 'Flower Delivery Girl' job ....ok 'Lady career'...Much too stressful in the summer time here- soooooo I had the this image & thought I'd settle some questions all at once this way .

I am liking this new job--- I love challenges and after I have conquered them ...well the thrill is gone. This challenge will last me into retirement I am pretty sure....It's not like the last time I worked in a restaurant & the cool part is the ages are from 16yr. to not sure but looks like mid 60's anyway .... and same for the crowd.

The times are great for me - 2-10pm & 4-10pm--- 4 days a week only I am starting 5 days next week kind of like make $$$$ while you can . I am talking 3 digits in tips but hard work too...which I love - I am Crazy I know it :)))
Thank YOu for your comment, and asking how things were working out ....

Cheers,
Michele~

OUCH!! Michele, it is awful when we have to see these sorts of things, but people need to slow down and realize that the wrong person behind the wheel can turn the car into a weapon.
Being irresponsible when driving, whether because speeding, or being under the influence, or not having enough concentration is something unnecessary, drives me nuts (no pun intended).

cheers and stay safe, Beks

P.S. how is the new job working out? Have you adjusted to the new routine yet?

Thanks for commenting and understanding Guy-
It is like people take on another personality , very aggressive when they get behind the wheel- not EVEN because of DUI- Just the power of the car,(?) the loss of resposibilty while on vacation , or this impatient society we seem to have breed :(((

Best wishes,
Michele~

Good photojournalist shot Michele. Unfortunately I see this all too often. As a matter of fact just in the past 3 weeks we responded to 6 accidents with a total of 8 fatalities. The start of the holidays is always a busy time for us and unfortunately people are in just too much of a hurry to get to the cottage or wherever or have still not learned that drinking and driving is no longer socially acceptable. Thanks for sharing.
Guy
