Wonderful Photograph Mark, Great colors and clarity and Composition. I love this subject matter...
Thanks for sharing? Thanks for the wonderful comment on my Girls' Photograph. They are only interested in what I'm doing to see it has something to do with food... GOD Bless? Your friend, Peter Daniel

Hi Mark,
Since you mentioned you had more of these steel mill photos I decided to go have a look.
They are absolutely wonderful! This one I especially like. Absolutly fantastic composition in it. Diagonal of warm light and the hot fire in lower left of the diagonal.
VERY GOOD job here, should be a WINNER! Lori :)
ps...looks like very hot and hard work! (hope these guys get paid well!)

Excellent working shot, Mark! I guess I missed this when I was away, but I'm glad I caught up with it! That lighting from the molten metal is great, and you've caught the scene very realistically. Thanks for your comments! Dave.

Reminds me of me on Halloween in my witches costume stirring my cauldron! *wink-wink* O_o! Now seriously I like the lighting coming from the molten mixture, makes for a very dramatic image! :)

Thanks, Jeff. Yeah, it is. I just stopped in yesterday morning and asked if I could come in and shoot pictures. The gave me guided tour today. Pretty neat. I don't even know pictures can capture what it was really like. It is a pretty amazing process.

Very cool (hot?) shot Mark. The glow of the molten steel is classic. Is this the place on Farnam and Saddle Creek?

Thanks, Mark. I was a little surprised myself that they let me in. I drive by this place every day and never asked because I thought they would never agree. I stopped yesterday and the owner said it would be no problem. In fact, he gave me one of his foreman as a personal guide for almost 2 hours today.
I think I'm going to make a calendar out of the shots and give it to him for a thank you.

Thanks, Judi. Actually, it was a little unsettling at times because as we would walk through the foundry, you could feel the intense heat coming from all around. Made you want to be careful where you stepped. These guys are immune to it as they are around it every day.

Mark,
It's about time you posted again. ;^)
To me, there is nothing like shooting with available light. You really captured this well. I can almost feel the heat radiating off my screen.

This one will be different as I've never been to a steel mill. This is a terrific shot. The colours and contrasts are great. Even greater is the portrayal of this man's work. Tour time. I like tours. MAry
