Would I ever love to have one of these plants. Falling Stars during the day--great. They are not as crisp as your others, but you have certainly shown the character of the plant.

Lily, the D200 is close, though. Over 10 Megapixels. It's the first DSLR to get me thinking seriously about adding a digital capability to my film cameras. Too expensive for now, but in a couple of years, maybe... And it can use ALL Nikon lenses back to the Ai series! Nice machine...

It was worth uploading though cause they are so very beautiful. I've never seen anything like this before. D200 is supposed to be out in mid-December. If it were a 12 mp machine, I think I would be tempted to switch over to Nikon.

Aha, Rob, then you probably ratchet up the ISO setting to get the shutter speed and DOF that is needed. Digital is really great for macros! I am swapping over to 800 ISO film now, but even this is not really fast enough... and my bad eye complicates focusing. Bummer.

Any support is better than nothing. But outside shooting insects and flowers I do it all by hand holding. Too cumbersome outside for a macro.

Yes, Rob. I wondered about even uploading it, but the shape of the flowers was so attractive I let it in. I needed a tripod. In fact I think a tripod is almost essential for macros, and even for indoor work with larger flowers, like this. I hate them, though. I use a unipod for the series of shots I stitch into panoramas... maybe I could use that?

This is to me less than you are capable of. The details in the bright flowers are missing, of course also caused by the focusing problem. F 11 would have done it but then the shutter speed was too low to guarentee absence of shake blur.

Oh I see. To be honest I am feeling very attracted by the Nikon D200 DSLR, and if I ever got it the very first lens I would buy is the 10.5mm fisheye... The Nikon 60mm macro is another super lens. Then a 12-24mm zoom would probably see all my regular needs met. But that adds up to quite a sum! I'm glad you like this photo... they are beautiful aren't they!

I had a mistake in the lens input ,I took this shot with 18-70 mm and not nikon 10.5 mm fish eye
