thank you, everyone! yes, the snail shell is empty - the empty ones either float or land up on lilypads (or in piles, on the bottom of the lake, near the shore). if there was a snail in it, it would have to be underwater. we see these all the time. it is a game to my daughter and i! thank you, klaas!
