Yes Amy, seeing the uncropped version shows us how he is holding up such a big log - both pictures are nice, but the uncropped one tells more of a story. You are doing very well, I wish I would have started taking pictures at your age! :)

My aunt was looking at my portfolio,and thought I should upload this picture uncropped to get your comments. She thought it told the story of the picture better. What do you think?

Seth is such a good subject! I agree with Steve. Getting closer and turning the camera upright removes some of the unnecessary stuff around the subject. This will pull the subject forward so the viewer's eye goes where you want.

Your pictures are getting much better and fast. This is a fun picture of your brother. The lighting is nice and even. He has a great expression on his face, but this picture would be a little better if you were closer.
Try taking his picture again and turn the camera side ways and get in closer. Keep up the good work.
