Really nice. What a great capture of the bridge, Ive never seen it like this before. Its like a huge gothic monolith standing guard before the gates of some sort of river of light. this is certainly a favorite. thanks for your comments, they are very helpful.

Jim, doesn't it always seem that whenever you want to include a person in a photo none are to be found. But, yet, if you want to exclude people they seem to wonder in at the worst possible moment. I also wondered about your camera setup. I know that it is often very windy on the bridge, which would make a long exposure near impossible. And, it looks like you are right next to the rail, so a large vehicle could create a lot of turbulance. Do you use a heavy-duty tripod?

Hi Jim, Is there anything better than Excellent. If there is, then that is what this photo should get. I have lived here all my life and I think this is the best photo of the Golden Gate Bridge that I have ever seen. 11 out of 10. I wish someday to do as good. Dave PS-Obviously I have put this one in as one of my favorites.

Tom... one of the many benefits of being between jobs in the bay area is that you get to go to landmarks at odd hours. I was on the bridge from 4-7pm mid-week and only a few people crossed my path the entire time. I took aa few shots and was hoping that someone would walk by, but no one did. The biggest challenge was getting a steady shot for my long exposures. The bridge moves quite a bit from traffic zipping by. I had the camera set up only a few feet from passing cars.

Beautiful. I have seen hundreds of GGB photos, but I don't believe I have seen it from this perspective before. The angle is very interesting. It seems like there is some distortion, which makes it even more eye catching. The long exposure makes it come to life. In my opinion, the lights installed on the GGB are rather subdued compared to the some other bridges. But, by capturing the passing cars, the lighting looks spectacular. The photo really grabs attention. How were you able to get several seconds without someone walking in front of you?

Now I understand why this is called "The GoldenGate Bridge". WOW.... great lightning but most of all an excellent composition; I like the perspective a lot. This one is a winner Jim, I have added it to my favorites! Regards, Diana.
