I had no idea that you did so much to these in PS..I figured a little. You're a master! I have used my son's camera, like yours, on a few occasions. I do have a couple on here I think, of some farmland, that I only cropped a little. It does give some nice colors at times. You have some beautiful, beautiful shots in your portfolio. And I agree with Christine, that they are very much like Thomas Kincade's work.

Glorified pastoral English countryside. Fantastic colour and textures. It is very reminiscent of the work done by Thomas Kinkade. Sheer serene beauty.

Thanks for the kind words, Roger ~ I take this as a big compliment. I wish my 602 would take pictures that I could print 'straight out of the box', but rarely does it do so! Occasionally I get shots that need only minor tweaking, but usually there's a fair bit of work to be done with levels and H&S before I'm happy to show them to anybody. I'm researching the possibility of upgrading it, but it will be a little while before I can really afford to do so.
Also, I just happen to like well-saturated shots that are finished off as though they were hanging in a gallery ~ hence another aspect of my 'treatment'. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, but it's kind of nice that people have started to 'recognise a Spracklen', even if for all the wrong reasons.
I guess your Sunday's nearly over now. I hope it went well. Mine's just starting and I need to get off and get ready in order to be down the church for 8am in order to set up the sound and visual equipment. I'm speaking this morning but, for the first time, my youngest son, Jon, is leading the service.
With every good wish, Chris

Thanks for showing the "before" and "after" of Barrington Court (I didn't comment there because I've promised myself to shut up about extensive PS beautification). Now I can imagine how much work you must have done for all your other beautiful pictures, Chris. I take my hat off to you. It's almost like making silk purses out of sows ears!

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Hi Chris, thanks for posting the orig file, that give me a good feel for your work. I agree with all the work you have done here, it needed doing.

The main thing I get from this photo is that the grass takes on the most important element in the frame. I think this is because itscentral and the brightest. Maybe try to tone it down a little, or, and I think this might be the better option, step right a little to get the house to fill more of the frame than the 50% it does now.

Hopr that helps a little.

Cheers

Keith

Thank you all for your kind comments ~ here's the original image as it came out of the camera. You'll notice that I had to clone out quite a telegraph pole and quite a few wires before replaing the sky!!

Hi Chris, Very good use of perspective. the road completely in the right part of the photo is quite unusual, but that's also what makes this shot. Very original. God, I love the English country side...

A pity the light was a bit subdued. It makes the image a bit flat (if not for the perspective in it) Good DOF, too.

Cheers,

Hugo
