Nice image, Chris. A little soft, perhaps, but at that distance you must have been using the telephoto end of your zoom, and 1/250th is none too short to avoid hand shake--unless you have a VR lens (saw one of those for the first time yesterday--great invention!).

Hi Chris, Hilarious comment. The little critter sure looks as if he's up to no good... Woudn't trust him for a dime. Still got his jail outfit on, that's for sure!
Excellent shot, though. The translucent light through the leafs is excellent. it really adds to this shot. Very well captured too. Not easy keeping the contrast and details in the shady parts without blowing out the bright spots. Great shot. Well measured too!
Cheers,
Hugo

Looks like you into the lens race now - great image from that distance. A touch over burnt on the lighter part of his neck, but nicely sharp.
K
and somehow, the lithe bit seams a little improbable ;-P

Great capture Chris - 40 yards eh ? Did you use a calculator, computer or tape measure for the metric conversion ;-)

Chris Let me have a go at it. How about 3 different components. First remove the bars, all but the one he holds on to. that image goes into the tree, then add a bit of foliage in front so it appears he is about to land with his feet on the tree branch. In nature I have never seen such a straight branch as he is holding in the right hand. also the branch in front of his feet seems to be coming from a tree that isn't there. That said, remember I have been on Pain Killers all week ! ;-)

'Unspeakable', John?! that's a bit strong! Clearly you're not a fan of painterly images! :-) This is what I started from?

I can tell you are feeling better :-) Lithe? Acrobatic? Humph! :-)) The only thing that is lithe and acrobatic about you is your teasing and great sense of humour :-)

I think you did something unspeakable in photo shop Chris, It looks like a painting, even the foliage has a peculiar tinge to it, Apart from that it is a good effort as I know how quick and agile these Maddergascarians can be.
