They are all constantly making sense of the world and always will know our own cohorts challenges and exciting new possibilities as things to take for granted so they can discover new exciting possibilities of their own. I didn't see the background blurb but I see a lot of complex emotion here and know that the future is always in better hands (theirs).
(Technically I think that repeated dark statement to their right is beautifully done.)

The story certainly puts the photos in a different light. They make more sense this way. What I am thinking about is to what extent the background you recount is visible in their faces.

Hi Mary, the story you descrive does place the scene in a differnt perspective. A tragic event...

I think this series is fantastic, despite that story, not because of it... However horible and moving that days events must've been on those kids. The atmosphere in this collection of photos as well as the dark tones seem to carry that burden within them.

The three different compsoitions, as well as the difference in expression and emotion in this triptych make it a very strong one. Again, the hard contrast works well in creating the difference between the outer (apparent) happiness and the inner turmoil, represented by the darker areas, blending in perfectly.

Very impressive shots, thanks for continuing this series....

Take care,

Cheers,

Hugo
