The common name for this is a skipper moth. We also have them here in California. Looks great!

Nice macro Rodney. It's a type of skipper... not sure which one though. I seen a lot of these fellas in one of the canyons near Sedona when we visited a couple of years ago. You may find a match at the USGS site. Scroll down to '
