About Just back from a brilliant day off on Portland, about an hour or sos journey from our home. the sky was blue, there was no wind, and the old lighthouse looked magnificent. Can't wait to show you!! I took 160+ photo's so I'm hoping one or two will be up to Usefilm standard!

The enigmatic title for this shot, (taken in Budleigh on Sunday afternoon), is taken from the old English Music Hall song: "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you!!"

And you didn't know I was that old, did you?!

Best regards to you all,

Chris

That means you must be older than me then Chris. I only go back as far as Buddy Holly - Wait till the sun shines Nellie. I don't know what they are either but you've captured them perfectly.

Good question, Roger!!
I'm not good with flower names, but these chaps looked liked (giant) daisies, so that's what I called them. Unfortunately I can't really do 'macro' at the moment as neither of my Nikon lenses are equipped for real close up work. The shot was taken at f9, 1/100th sec, with my 300mm lens fully extended ~ and hand held!
Thanks for the comment ~ great to hear from you again.
Best regards, Chris

Chris, are these actually daisies? I mean, is this a macro? Or is it some variety of giant daisy (I'm not up on flower names). You don't give the F/number, which would have given me a clue on how to read the out-of-focus blurring. Nice shot, anyway.

No Chris you aren't that old, your Mum must have told you about the song. Lovely daisy shot, I really like the light and shade of the composition

I think this flower plays a role in the love affair internationally; here too each petals play alternatively as YES or NO till the end of flower as magic answering machine for doubtful lovers :))

Chris, This is a refreshing and delightful image. I love the title, but now I can't get the song out of my head. -- Debby

Chris I remember that song all to well. Now you can guess how old I am. Much older than you. I must be the oldest member of usefilm.. This is an excellent rendition of the daisys. They really stand out from the background. As usual very well done. Don.
