Ellen - how kind of you to have added this shot as one of your favorites. After drooling over your photos in your portfolio, I am truly honored. I certainly will be "snooping" around your uploads to see what wonderful shots you have in treat for us in the future. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Arwa - after looking through the lovely floral shots in your portfolio, I can understand your comment about the centering. The non-centered does add interest to the shot, and after receiving the same advice on my post of the inside center of this flower, I have been experimenting. The other shot was centered because I thought it looked like a piece of candy, but some of my more recent shots would not have been effective done that way. Thanks for your helpful advice which directed me to your portfolio - and a visual lesson. Jan

wonderful photograph of these beautifully pink gerbera! Nice composition much better than before!
Centering is very delicate!it should be done only when you hundred percent sure that it adds to the over all impact of the image
Your so lucky to be able to plant them in your garden! Its one of my all time favorite flowers :) 7/7

Hey Thomas - Not yet, as I am just a little further along that being able to get the program opened - but not much. Just picking up "how-to's" from our usefilm family that is so willing to share their knowledge. Jan

Thanks Mary - I was pleased with the way this one turned out, and thought the framing done this way was better than the ones I normally use - this is art and framing or not framing and how you do it does make a difference.

Sort of right out of Star Trek and the unusual planets they visited. LOL Bill - titled this one because the shot was the "back of their heads" as they looked up and out. Jan

Gilberto - your Wild Flowers 3 has this kind of frame, so perhaps you contributed to my desire to learn how to do this. It is a very nice way to frame a photo without loosing some of the object - but doesn't suit all photos does it? Jan

Thanks Diana - really liked the flow of the petals and didn't want to use the framing I normally put on the photos. If I haden't figured out how to do the invisable "frame" I was going to upload it without. Jan

Petal - thanks for your comments on my photo. Your comment on the award was exactly what Rob said when I was a featured critiquer of one of his photos. He got the award - and I did point out to him that it was HIS photo that was selected so the award should go for the photo that was critiqued. I guess that is the reasoning - that people thought it worthy of a critique. Sure do enjoy looking through your portfolio. I am a softy when it comes to landscapes, water shots, and florals! Jan

Very nice macro!!! Great colors, excellent angle/view and composition.... well done!!! (And thanks for your comment. I don't know how that works but it seems to me that the 'well done' should go to the comment-giver.... and as I found out: that's your son.... small world, great photos.... ;-D!!)
