About This is another view of the statute called "The Valentine" that is located on the City Hall Complex Peoria, AZ. I decided to upload this one for those of you that didn't like the stairs in the previous upload. Have yet another view of this that I may upload tomorrow as I rather like the framing on that one too - and it so nice to get opinions. What do you think? PS the ground is hilly so that the statute and the lamp post are NOT level. It really does lean and I decided not to do anything to straighten it out.

Thanks Darlene - trying to hold up my end of the deal - branching out by trying something different - but not all the time. Really want to try my hand at landscapes next as I have always enjoyed nature. Flowers are just easier to come by - 'cause when necessary (like when it is hot) I can buy those. Jan

Great image Janice, and so very sweet! Wonderful shades of green and browns in the tree, really neat shot!

I would love to attend the show. My home e-mail is Janorsam@cox.net. Keep me posted. Our son, Sam is a usefilm donor and he also lives in this area. I am sure that he would love to attend also as he too is new to photography. Jan

Yes I am chairman of the digital competition in our club in SCW. Will have over 100 entries to take care of and get judged then make a program out of the results. We have a big theatre with new digital projection system. Set it all to music and the whole ball of wax. Will have to invite you up for the show. Don.

Thanks Don - got an e-mail from Don P. and we may try and plan a photo shoot to somewhere after you get back in town, of course. Boy, you are a busy person and involved in a lot of things related to photography. Jan

Thanks Ellen - they are fast growing and very light and airy looking bushes. On the meteor shower: at the photo class last night, the instructor suggested reading in your manual about and then using the bulb setting, VERY dark area with no city lights glowing - f stop - large, try 800 ISO and for something like fireworks would need a slow shutter speed (125-160?). Is there a photoshop you can call and ask? He showed a shot he took of the north star and had his bulb setting on for 6 hours - not sure how that works, but the shot was really neat - you could see the rotation of the earth. His secret was try different settings and practice. PS - according to the papers (8/12/05) northeast sky between 2 am-5am tonight and tomorrow. Keep me posted. Jan

No joy no stars. I didn't have the settings right.

Thanks Don - it does seem better without a really busy angular looking background. Jan

Thanks Lisa - our City Hall Complex has matured into a very lovely area to walk around in. We are building another new building just west of the new police and fire administration building in the next 3-5 years. Between these two buildings and the main complex the open area is going to be expanded even further and we will have another small neighborhood park-type area to add to what we already have. Jan

I like this because the background almost looks dream-like. It gives it a dramatic feel. With the angle of the tree behind the statue, it doesn't seem so tilted!

Janice,

I really like this one. The statue of the couple seems completely different from this angle. The tree in the background above them gives the impression that they are seeking a spot in the shade on a hot summer day. Looks like a beautiful place to visit.

This is very delightful, Janice. The dark of the tree is a nice contrast to the gentle greens and gray of the statues. I liked the firt one, but I think I like this one better. The tenderness is more obvious.
Mary
