Very good perspective on this shot, love the overhang of the rock on the the left, Congradulations on coming up with a new view of this very famous lighthouse. Focus is just a bit soft. best regards, Sandra

An interesting perspective of a much photographed subject. I like how the boulders are used to frame the subject.

Interesting one this, as I was born just about 10 miles from the lighthouse at Portland, England!! This is a very nice image, Peter - nicely composed, sharp and well saturated. Excellent work.

Regards, Chris.

Hi Peter,
I remember going up that road, but not on 'shank's pony'. I drove my old Jetta diesel op there.
You have certainy captures the simplicituy of the view and the fine pastel colors too. You are right this is a simple classic.

There is another one (i think), just past Wakefield I believe (take a look at the steam engine in my portfolio, I rode that train to I think Wakefield where they turn the engine, there is a covered bridge just on the other end of the town - red I think). I like the tones you went with, giving it a more interesting look than a colour version IMO. The detail on the bridge seems to peter out a bit, after the middle - maybe a smaller apature would have helped here.Quite an interesting photo tho, I do like it - I very very rarely get to see one.

What I like the most about this shot, is that you used the rock for natural framing. Perfect shutter speed for the surf

Simply beautiful. The use of sidelighitng, framing by the rocks, rule of 3rds and waves - great composition. Fantastic colors. Great job over all.

Elangs.

Alan, the bridge is located on the road between "Gould" and "Weedon Centre". That is about 50 KM Northeast of Sherbrooke. I have seen the bridge you mention but I feel find it on a map sometime. Thanks.

I like this shot because it is so detailed, it has texture.
Where exactly is this bridge in the Eastern Townships? Have you ever see the one at Powerscourt QC? It is quite nice too, but not so long. Built in 1863.

Hello Peter, welcome. This is one of the pictures I get "moody" with. It tells the watcher something and it is interesting. Not only beautiful but a picture one can watch at for a long time. Congratulations on a great capture!
