Thank you Leo! I got so busy that I didn't have time to spend at usefilm. (I have started a wedding and event photography business). I always felt that if I put up photos for critiquing that I should take time to give critiques, which I really didn't have. I just, on a whim, came back tonight to check in and see what my old friends had been up to. Thanks again for your kind comment.

Hello Yutaka, I have been gone for years - just came for a visit tonight and am looking at my old friend's images. This image is a great example of why I had you on my list!! I love the color, light, and texture here. The only change I might suggest would be to crop some off the right side of the image so that it is not quite so symmetrical. I'm glad to see you are still pursuing your love of photography - you have an amazing eye for the abstract!

Hi Teunis, I haven't been here for years, and just visited on a whim tonight. I'm going through my friend's list, which you are on. I've been busy with my business as a wedding and event photographer. I've also been active with the local photography club, where we have our images critiqued and judged. I could go on and on about the beautiful images in your gallery . . . but I have a critique to offer on this particular image. The horizon line is cut in half, which generally is not good - especially with no interest in the sky. You might try cropping the sky and the left side of the image, or cropping most of the sky and creating a panoramic type image. Otherwise, I must say, I saw many fabulous images in your gallery! Of course, great capture of the bird. I like how you gave more space around it than in the origial shot. Being in the vast minority, I hesitate to give my opinion about the background - I would have preferred the clouds not blurred. Now I will duck while I have tomatoes and eggs thrown at me!
Say "hi" for me to the nice old man and Pretty Girl next time you see them.

Beautiful composition!! I really like your choice of black and white, as it focuses our attention on the lines, shapes, range of dark and light . . . You have really been able to capture the unique look of these bare-branched trees as well - I like how the branches give a different illusion when see from farther away.

The more I look at this image, the more I appreciate the thought you put into it. It is a very moving image, and the black silhouettes against the bright yellow tones is very striking. Very nice!
