Peta,
Another great one. I prefer this version only because you've matched the tones so well to the mood- your technique is amazing!
Thank you for your kind comment on my picture from the coast of Wales- I have some others from that trip that I will be posting when I get a chance to work on them. If you are ever headed there, I can recommend a wonderful bed and breakfast just north of St. David's- our favorite accommodations of the whole trip. The picture in my portfolio titled "The Cows of Crug Glas" is taken there- it's just a few miles from the 'Watchtower' photo.
Keep inspiring us.
Regards, David

I like the concept here too, as you know. This is very different than the first, much more formally composed. I agree with the comments comparing it to an engraving....does have the look of an illustration. Good one again, Peta!!

ps wonderful sky!!

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. Big Hugs!

I'm attaching the sepia version, before darkness and mood were added, for you to see, we like it too.

Craig, my daughter will love the Wuthering Heights reference, one of her favourite books.

Hi Peta; I seem to have missed this shot-- holiday rush?. I love it-- the exposure and details and subject are exceptional. Re composition-- I suppose one small nit-- it would be nice to have Kevin just a little to the right as the reddish building corner clashes just a bit with him-- but I still say "Beautiful Work"!

Peta; a powerful and dramatic photograph-- also a mysterious quality here-- looks like something right out of "Wuthering Heights". Nice work-- love the lighting and toning. I'm sure you tried a little brighter presentation but decided on this darker more dramatic one to convey YOUR vision.

Beautiful tones, the rich warm sepia tones are great. I do wish that you would have moved to the right just a little so her face didn't come right on the edge of the monument. Other than that you have a great picture. Don.

Young history, but charming and interesting as well. I like the composition and the tones, the background is very rich but not distracting, it adds a lot to the image, as usual in your photos. I?m not sure about her position, while her face shows up very much, instead a part of the figure is mixed up with the background. However this is only a little point, it is a very beautiful photo! Bye Max

Hugs everyone, your comments are a treasure, I sincerely mean that.

Stefan(lol...of course! You keep me on my toes and I appreciate that), Emanuele and Becky mention wishing she stood out more, or lighter background. I must put a disclaimer in and say as she is this 'being' in this cemetery it was our wish to have her sort of be 'one' with her surroundings.

Becky, I will soon get back with you on your question of printing. I did print the previous image on watercolour paper and was amazed how even more detail stood out. So I think it will print out well. I am finally wising up and doing this work on large files with printing in mind.

Mary thanks for the thumbs up on the camera. I WISH even more now!
I have lurked in cemetaries since I was a teen, and agree with you and Shelby.
