Very stunning and powerful shot! As a part-time pro equine photographer I feel qualified to say...you'ver got a GREAT portfolio. Very, very nice work throughout!

Now, having said that, I do feel that some of your images would benefit from a central focus. I love the blur but on some (not all) a point of focal reference might add to an already stunning image.

I don't think this would benefit from a crop at all! As a matter of fact, I think a crop would hurt the overall image. As it stands, I'm left asking...what the heck is it?!?! Nice capture of the rust/patina tones. Well done!

I think I would like to see greater depth. The distant portions of the keys are out of focus and I think I would like the picture better if they were more clearly seen. I very much like the simplicity of the subject and I like the minimal background. Interesting shot.

Wonderful use of color and texture! I find these shots are more difficult than they seem. Well done!

Very interesting shot! I'm not sure how you accomplished it, though. Is this a girl in motion? Is this a girl under a waterfall? I'm intrigued!

Nicely done! I like the off-center framing of the tree and I like the way the road begins in the front corner and leads your eye through the picture. Nice depth of field, too! Oh..and the choice of black and white was perfect! Great image!

I agree that the overall tone is a bit dark, but it's still a great photo. Looks like it should be on a postcard. Very well done.

Hi Amy! I was wondering where you went. I've been off of this site for a while as well.

I'm using an Olympus P400 but it is not a great "field" printer. I need to update my website because I've stopped processing on-site. I've found a web-site that lets me post quickly and they process my orders through their credit card system, etc.

Do I like the Olympus? Sure...just not in an uncontrolled atmosphere.

WOW!!! Bobby this is the best shot I've seen from you. Absolutely superb! I Love the light, the texture of this guy's face...simply the best you've put out there, in my opinion. Great work, rafiki!

Nice shot, Bobby! One possible critique for you...if you could use photoshop (or some other edit tool) and crop in tighter on the subject but leave some background off to the right I think you'd have a more dramatic picture. I'll try to work it myself and send you the results.

Let me know when you get back home. I'll come "rescue" you from the gulag!

Oh...and thanks for that shirt! Just exactly what I was wanting!

This is the Giant's Causeway. Irish legend has it that this was the walkway between Ireland and Scotland used by the "ancient ones".

It is a naturally occuring rock formation off of the northern coast...County Antrim, I think...can't remember.

Nice use of natural geometry. Good choice to tone it down as well. Nicely done.

Absolute agreement about that haze. I had trouble with it as well. I took that shot late afternoon. The haze and harsh mid-day light is one reason I desaturated the shot you saw in my portfolio. (Thanks for the comments, btw)

Took a look at your total portfolio, too. WOW!! Really nice stuff! Congrats.

Looks like we were both up on the Blue Ridge this weekend!!

I like the choice of cropping wide. It gives a panoramic feel. I also like the trees on each side guiding the eye into the center of the image. I can't help but wonder, though...what could you have done for the color of that sky? Maybe a polarizing filter to punch up the blue?

I was playing around with a graduated neutral density, but didn't get what I was after. I did use a Polarizer to decent effect, though. Wish I had a tobacco filter to play with, too. I wanted to bring out some contrast or even "anger" in some of the clouds I saw.

Nice shot, though. Thanks for posting it!

Very interesting comment Dave...when I saw the thumbnail I thought of Patton from the turret of his Sherman! Same war...different generals.

Interesting shot, though. Well done, Michael.

Is this a picture of a painting or a picture that you have manipulated to look like a painting? Either way, it's a great picture! Very evocative.
