Wonderful image!!!
I love the softness of the leaf surface, and the sharpness of the drops limit.
A very strong photo, and so smooth at the same time.

amazing Lorenzo! Very nice! But in your case you should have the front line sharp too! That would bring it better outfit!
My opinion.

Wonderful Photograph Lorenzo, Great Colors and Clarity. I fell the composition needs a little work. A little cropping. Here are some published rules on composition... Hope you don't mind...

Balanced Composition

Even if you don't plan on selling your photo to the Smithsonian, make every effort to keep it balanced and beautiful. On one level or another, everyone responds better to a picture that has all elements in balance.

Strive to lead the eye along an interesting path through the photo, with the use of strong lines or patterns.

1. Keep the horizon level;
2. Crop out extra elements that you are not interested in;
3. Consciously place your subject where you think it most belongs rather than just accepting it wherever it happens to land in the photo;
4. Play with perspective so that all lines show a pattern or lead the eye to your main subject;
5. Work with the Rule of Thirds.

Utilizzo una funzione di Paint sho pro: in inglese Clarify, in italiano Nitidezza.
Bisogna solo fare attenzione a non abusarne :-)
Va molto bene dove ci sono ad esempio muri o rocce.
Ciao

Hi Sietse, thanks for your useful comment.
Normally I try to follow the elements you listed to me (take a look at my portfolio), but in this case I liked the big blue area of the flower.
Anyway, the next time I'll pay more attention to your suggetions.
regards, lorenzo

Nice colours. However taking a proper flower shot is more difficult than you might think. You have to look at the background. For instance a nice blue sky makes an excellent contrasty background for a yellow or red flower. You also have to look for an interesting angle for shooting the flower. A centered in 'your face' approach isn't very interesting. Getting on your knees brings new oppertunities. I don't see of these things here. The B&W background can't save you here.

Last tip: use your macro mode.

ottimo il bn e i colori, un effetto che ogni tanto uso anche io per eliminare uno sfondo troppo invadente. Bravissimo
